Maple Leaf Chili Recipe
Ingredients:
2 cl of minced garlic
4 pcs of chopped onions
1 Tbsp of oil
2 tsp of ground cumin
1 Tbsp of chili powder
1/4 tsp of cinnamon
1/4 tsp of cayenne
3 Tbsps of chopped basil
1 Tbsp of chopped oregano
1 Tbsp of chopped marjoram
1 c of chopped celery
1.5 c of toasted green pepper
4 c of cooked kidney beans
1 Tbsp of molasses
Salt and pepper
Instructions:
Saute onions and garlic with oil into a large-sized skillet. Add in spices, herbs and chili. Allow to cook sauteed onions and herbs for several minutes.
Add in green pepper, tomatoes and celery. Bring to a simmer about 15-17 minutes. Chop peanuts coarsely and add to chili with molasses and beans.
Let it simmer about 20-30 minutes. Best served warm. Good for 6 persons.
